Unit Description
This unit is designed to foster the interests and talents of our young mathematicians by introducing them to different approaches to problem-solving by combining recreational mathematics with magic performances. Students investigate the diverse use of mathematics in magic tricks, which is also applicable to areas such as games, computer science, financial maths and geometry, and focus on their lateral and logical thinking. The ability to present their solutions in a clear and sequential manner is encouraged. They are also encouraged to use technology creatively to solve challenging problems and to demonstrate their mathemagic performances. This unit caters for students of all levels of mathematical achievement.
